Passenger and Driver Information Systems

Although not being used in our country yet, passenger and driver information systems are being used in many developed countries.

This systems is especially very useful in cities where public transportation is common. Ultra is introducing this new system to the related authorities and provides demo software.

The stucture and use of passenger and driver information system is described below:

The system is mainly composed of the transmitters placed on the vehicles and receivers placed on the routes. Communication equipment which transmit the result of the processed data to the center and message displays are also important components of the system.

The advantages of having this system can be summarized as following:

• Efficiency increases by controlling all public transportation vehicles
• Vehicle failure is detected immediately so repair and extra service is provided
• Statistical data is anytime available for planning studies
• Passangers at the stops are informed about which vehicle will arrive when
